What is
7-on-7?
7-on-7 is football stripped down to the passing game. No linemen, no tackling — just quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs battling it out in a fast-paced, high-scoring format.
It's how college and NFL players train in the offseason. Now your kid can experience the same style of play, developing route-running, coverage skills, and football IQ without the contact.

7 Players on Field
Each team will have 7 players on the field at a time.
No Timeouts
Game is played with a 25-minute running clock — no stoppages.
Start at 35-Yard Line
The offense will start each possession at the 35-yard line.
Turnovers
If the offense turns the ball over on downs or interception, the other team will take over and start at the 35-yard line.
Sideline Rules
All defensive players not in the game must be on the sideline. One coach allowed in the offensive huddle. No coaches in defensive secondary.
Fumbles
Any fumble is downed where the fumble occurs.
Sportsmanship
It is the responsibility of each coach to practice good sportsmanship and enforce it with their own players.
Offensive Rules
Shotgun Snap Required
The offense must use someone to snap the ball if in shotgun.
5 Eligible Receivers
Only 5 players allowed to go out for a pass. Center is ineligible.
25-Second Play Clock
The offense has 25 seconds to huddle, call a play, and snap the ball. Time is held on the tee.
4-Second Throw Clock
The offense has 4 seconds to get rid of the ball. A sack will be the same as an incomplete pass.
First Down at 15-Yard Line
The offense can earn one first down by getting to the 15-yard line. They have 4 downs to get to the 15 and another 4 downs to score.
1 Run Play Per Game
One run play per game is allowed and must include a QB exchange. The QB is not eligible to run the ball.
No Laterals
No laterals to a teammate after the throw.
Unsportsmanlike Sideline
Unsportsmanlike sideline conduct is a 15-yard penalty.
Defensive Rules
Blitzing
Each team is allowed 1 blitz per game. Blitz must be 3 yards above or to the side of the tee — you cannot line up on the tee for a blitz. If a blitz occurs twice or is illegal, the offense gets an automatic first down and the team loses their blitz. No blitzing on the 35-yard line — if a team blitzes on the 35, it’s automatic 15 yards and a first down, and the blitz is lost. No blitzing in overtime.
Bumping Within 5 Yards
Bumping is allowed ONLY within 5 yards; re-routing or disrupting crossing routes is prohibited. The defender may not hook, clamp, grasp, encircle, or hold the receiver — doing so is a foul. Once the ball is in the air, standard pass interference rules apply. (Test run — if bumping becomes an issue or involves excessive force, we’ll revert to a no-contact approach.)
Penalties
Defensive Pass Interference
Results in a first down for the offense at the spot of the foul.
DPI in End Zone
Results in a first down at the 3-yard line. PI on extra point play will be half the distance to goal and repeat down.
Illegal Use of Hands
Any foul within or beyond 5 yards will be deemed “Illegal use of hands,” with the offense choosing either the play’s result or a 5-yard penalty from the previous spot and a replayed down.
No Blocking Downfield
There is no blocking down the field by the offense. This will result in a penalty and will be the same as an incomplete pass.
Offensive Pass Interference
Any offensive penalty is loss of down, move ball back to original spot.
False Start
False start penalty is a loss of down.
Scoring
Touchdown = 6 Points
After a touchdown, the offense can choose the 3-yard line for a 1-point conversion or the 7-yard line for a 2-point conversion. Ball placed in the middle of field.
Interception = 3 Points
An interception is worth 3 points.
Overtime (Tournament Only)
Each team will start at the 5-yard line and have 1 play to score. If you score, you can go for 1 or 2 points. Process continues until there is a winner. Game over on an interception.
🏆 Championship Tie Breaker
This is a double-elimination tournament. If the undefeated team loses the first championship game, the game moves to overtime. In overtime, each team gets one play starting from the 5-yard line to score. After a touchdown, the team can choose to go for one or two points. This continues back and forth until there's a winner. The game ends immediately on an interception.
